Project 5: The One – Shoulder Ruffle Top

I`m still coming to terms with the fact that Summer is officially over. The leaves have been changing their color and falling down beautifully. Everyone is clearly embracing how the Season is changing gracefully.

It is indeed the season of oversized sweaters, cosy blankets, hot tea and huge scarves. It actually dawned on me that Christmas is in only three months? Talking of how 2017 has gone so fast!

Now I shared this one shoulder stripped top on my Insta Stories about two months ago. This is how long overdue this Project has been (life happened). I actually took a short break from being creative in the sewing department for a while but I`ve been lately inspired to bring out my machine and work on more projects. This Summer was all about Ruffles and Statement Sleeves which have been trending all year long. To be honest, I don`t think they will be going anywhere soon. I`m a huge fan of the “Off- Shoulder Trend” so this time round i thought I`d try out something different and i really loved how this one turned out.

I was going for something loose fitting, bright and fun. Working with this cotton fabric was such a joy, which resulted into such an easy project. I would do this pattern over and over again if the weather allowed me to. Unfortunately, that is not the case for me. Still staying on the positive side though is the fact that I can hack this top into a shift dress by just adding more length. I hope you enjoy the pictures and i hope to catch up with you in my next post where I will be sharing my last Project i made this Summer.

Enjoy the rest of the week my beautiful friends.

I remember watching you making it on your ‘Instastories’, it turned out great. And of course you can still wear it in the colder months, just layer it over a poloneck.
