This past week has been really busy and emotional for both hubby and i as we have been preparing for Robin`s final arrangements for school. As this post goes out, my son will probably be having his first lesson ever in his life! If you are a parent, then you know how BIG this is for us. In Germany the schooling method is totally different from what i had experienced in Kenya. All the new pupils who are going to the first grade have an extra special day, also known as “Einschulung” where they are welcomed to school. This day which always takes place on a Saturday, is a special day in this country but mostly for the first graders who always receive a school cone (Schultüte) which literally looks like a big ice cream cone filled with all sorts of goodies such as stationary materials, sweets, toys, books etc. On this day they are welcomed by their teachers and meet their new classmates. After a small welcoming party with songs, poems, and theater, which most of the time are performed by the older children, the first-graders spend about two hours in the classroom, where they get to know each other and receive information from the teacher. Once the first exciting day of school is over, the children are allowed to go home, where they finally unpack their candy cones and celebrate the start of school life with their families.
If you follow me on Instagram, you might have probably seen Robin`s school cone which i made almost three months ago. It took me almost four hours to design it the way i wanted too but not only did i love the outcome, Robin was more than thrilled when i surprised him with it on Saturday:). Now my son is no longer that small kid again. He has started a new chapter in his life which we are really proud of. I`m praying that this new journey will be filled with lots of fun, love and good memories. And as for the challenges that will come along the way, may the Lord grant us with wisdom, patience, knowledge and understanding to tackle each and every one of them in a wise manner. This post is dedicated to you my son. Unfortunately since the ceremony was too overwhelming for him, he wasn`t up for a photoshoot but i hope you get to enjoy the few pictures of him that i managed to capture 🙂
So let`s move on to the fashion aspect of this post!
White and Blue is a color theme that will never grow old in my books! And can we talk about how the flare has made a huge comeback this season?? One thing that i love about it is that it gives you so much room to play with. In this post i opted for a simple clean look but i can totally see myself rocking this piece with an off shoulder top, maybe a denim top and as Fall is slowly approaching, a cute bold sweater with some ankle boots would go perfect match with it. I`m not a huge fun of bodysuits because they do tend to get really uncomfortable with time. I`m just being honest guys. I got mine from the Zara sales but i`m quite sure i won`t be purchasing another one after this. Talking of sales… The summer sales this year has been CRAZYYYY! Since i`m a lady who is always on a budget, i do appreciate sales more than anything. I`m going to keep it short and sweet today and leave you all to enjoy the rest of the pictures.
Wishing every one of you an awesome week ahead. Be blessed and i will catch yàll on my next post.
