Don`t you just love the magic that a statement neckpiece can do to your overall outfit?
I love color. I enjoy playing and experimenting with bold colors simply because they are therapeutic in a way that makes me happy. I`m that kind of lady who focuses more on my outfits rather than the accessories. When it comes to accessorizing, i always go for that minimalistic look which can at times make or break a good look. But on those days when i want to have funΒ with my style without layering on blazers, hats and scarves, throwing an eye-catching statement neckpiece over my choice of outfit really adds that extra oomph for a quick and effortless ensemble. That`s exactly what happened in today`s post. My sweet mother in law sent me this amazing piece from Ghana and you best believe me when i tell you that it was love at first sight. This isn`t for the faint at heart. No no. It`s bold. Loud. Vibrant. Unique. You name it. It`s best styled with a really simple outfit as it adds a trendy twist to an old classic. Putting this together was no brainer at all. All i needed was a color palette with matched my statement neckpiece and i was good to go.
If you follow me on my blog then i`m sure most of you are familiar with this dress from this Particular Post. The only thing with this one is that it comes in a different color. I loved the red one so much that i had to pick up the black one. I mean one can never go wrong in black, right?Β This has to be one of my favorite dresses that i own to date. The fabric is really comfortable on the skin. It`s thick and it sucks everythig at the right places. Did i mention how perfect the length is? Not too short and also neither too long. Just exactly how i love it π
So let`s talk about this Ankara bag that has been chilling in my closet for years now. I haven`t been so keen on it for what seems like ages now. I guess i was waiting for the perfect outfit to style it with. This was also one of the wins that my mom and i managed to score on our trip to Ghana three years ago. I guess Ankara is one of those trends which is here to stay due to it`s beautiful blend of colors and the countless number of unique prints it offers.Β Well now that i`m so much into designing my handmade wardrobe, a trip to Ghana would be the best thing ever. The local fabric market in that beautiful country is on another level !
I want to thank you all for the amazing feedback on my previous post. I truly appreciate the love and support in this community. I`m in a point of my life where i`m experiencing joy in whatever situations i`m in. Just living richly with meaning, purpose, integrity and fun in every circumstance because the truth is happiness is not something to be defined in advance. It`s mine to choose in each moment and that`s one thing that i`m constantly reminding myself every single day.
Yes, be ambitious, set goals, work towards them, pray and proclaim for whatever it is your heart desires. Just rememberΒ that there is so much goodness, life, fulfillment to be enjoyed along the way.Β Marvel at the magic of living in a world where so many amazing experiences are available to you everyday. Be joy, live joy, here, now, and with whatever may or may not come your way. Be encouraged and don`t give up!
Wishing you all a great start of the week.
Lots of love
Milly π
