Project 2: The Leopard Circle Skirt

I’m in total denial about summer being over!
I mean, the temperatures haven`t really gone down but i can already hear the sound of Fall knocking on my door.  And i’m still wearing sandals.  So summer hasn’t quite disappeared.  But I guess i’m more in denial about waking up early to dark rainy days!

But let’s talk about skirts.
Precisely, the circle skirt!

I have been seriously thinking of how i should start this post! One thing that i can`t help doing though is to smile today as i present to you my second project :). This was super easy to do compared to My First Sewing Project which took me a while to complete due to the adjustments that i had to do. My teacher gave me this fabric given that it had been laying in her stash collection for months and she didn`t know what to do with it. The first thing that came to mind was a midi dress. Then i remembered i have one already in this print. So no no, that wasn`t going to happen. And voila!! That`s how this skirt came to life. I couldn`t be more happier with the overral fit and length. Now that i have gotten the hang of it, i`m planning to create more of them in different lengths and patterns. I have always fancied a good circle skirt. I have seen them in almost all body shapes and i`m always awed at how much they stand out.

The only thing that i have to admit was challenging for me was the styling part. Since  i`m a firm believer of “Less is More” , i always try my best to keep it simple when it comes to styling my outfits. And my oh my, it took a lot of changing different kind of tops before i got something that i was comfortable with. Since the leopard print is so loud, i decided to soften the look by adding  a slightly off the shoulder top, which i`m obviously obsessed with and some nude platforms. I added the small belt to add a little bit of oomph. I also think a black top with some red pumps would have looked equally amazing with the leopard print. This was quite tricky if i`m honest. How would you guys have styled it? I`d love to read your take on it:)

Before i go i`d thought to share with you a small word of encouragement which spoke so much volume to me, hoping that it would also be an inspiration to some of you…….

Small Moments

Small moments are the building blocks of great achievements. Steadily, diligently, one moment at a time is how new value comes to life. Anyone can stay positive, focused, effective for one small moment. Great things happen when you string such moments together. Today is filled with an abundance of moments. Within those moments, if you choose, you can make real, solid progress. For a moment, let go of worry, anxiety, fear, anger, resentment and frustration. Fill the moment with action that makes a positive difference. When that produtive, satisfying moment is over, you can choose to do it again. You can create positive moments for as long as it takes to get the results you seek. Enjoy living at your highest level of effectiveness, for just this moment. Then keep it going, and amazing things begin to appear on your horizon

I mean Its just perfect, all round and fits you perfectly . Skirt was great Idea. The styling was amazing as well as a white top goes with everything and lets the skirt be a major highlight.
